Product Description
Extra Anejo is the newest and rarest of the tequila classifications, created in 2006 for spirits held in oak longer than any anejo. At that point tequila stops behaving like an agave spirit and starts trading in the same register as fine brandy and aged whiskey, without ever quite losing the plant it came from. This is the top of the tequila pyramid.
The character is deep amber and unhurried, with cooked agave buried under toffee, dried fruit, cocoa and warm oak spice on a long, gently drying finish. Sip it neat at room temperature from a copita or a brandy glass. Mixing it would be a waste.
