Product Description
Plum wine has a long tradition in East Asia, where it is drunk cold in small glasses as a sweet counterweight to salty food. Lynfred, working out of Roselle, Illinois, makes its own version from plums rather than grapes, and the result sits much closer to a dessert wine than a table wine.
Deep stone-fruit sweetness, a faint almond note off the pit character, low tannin and a texture that is syrupy without turning heavy. Chill it hard and pour two or three ounces. Excellent after a meal with almond cookies or blue cheese, or over crushed ice as a slow warm-weather sipper.
