Caramel and roasted agave, with oak standing behind both. Dobel's anejo spends at least a year in barrel, long enough to settle the spirit into something worth sitting with, and it comes from a Jalisco family whose tequila history runs back through eleven generations.
Warm and dessert-adjacent: vanilla, toffee, dried orange and a light dusting of cinnamon, with a finish that lingers rather than burns. Neat is the honest way to drink it, in a copita or a small tumbler, though one large cube is fair enough. A good crossover bottle for whiskey drinkers curious about aged agave.
