Filtration is the trick here. Dobel blends reposado, anejo and extra anejo tequila, then strips the color back out, leaving the depth of barrel aging in a spirit that pours clear as water. Diamante is the bottle that effectively created the cristalino category, and it still sets the standard for it.
Silky and rounded, with cooked agave, vanilla, light honey and toasted oak, and none of the raw pepper of a blanco. Serve it neat and lightly chilled, or over a single large cube. It also makes a genuinely elegant margarita, if you are willing to spend aged tequila on a cocktail.
