Clonmel, County Tipperary, is where this cider comes from, and the Irish approach shows in the glass: apple-forward, crisp, and considerably drier than most American ciders. Magners built its name on being poured over ice, a habit that looks strange to newcomers and makes complete sense after the first glass.
Fresh pressed apple with a touch of tartness, moderate sweetness and a clean, quenching finish that never turns cloying. Serve it cold, ideally over ice in a pint glass.
