Old Vine Red has been the Marietta Cellars signature since the winery started, released in numbered lots rather than vintages so the blend can be built for consistency year after year. Lot 74 continues that practice: a Zinfandel-led field blend drawn from mature vines, assembled for immediate pleasure. It is one of the most reliable everyday reds in California, and it earned that the slow way.
The profile is generous and juicy, all raspberry and black cherry with a dusting of baking spice, soft tannins and a warm finish. Serve it slightly cool alongside pizza, burgers, barbecue or a Tuesday night bowl of pasta. No decanting required.
