Product Description
Añejo tequila is agave with patience applied. After distillation the spirit rests in oak for at least a year, long enough for the bright vegetal snap of fresh agave to settle into something rounder and warmer without losing its origins. This is a sipping expression rather than a mixing one, and it rewards being treated accordingly.
Look for cooked agave underneath layers of caramel, toasted oak and soft baking spice, with a hint of dried fruit and a long, gently sweet close. Pour it neat in a copita at room temperature, or over one large cube if you prefer it slower. It stands in comfortably where you might otherwise reach for an aged whiskey.
