Product Description
Aimé Guibert planted vines on a bed of glacial powder in the Languedoc hills in the 1970s and proceeded to make wines nobody thought that part of France could produce. The white from Mas de Daumas Gassac is the estate at its most unusual: a blend of rare varieties, fermented and raised with the ambition of a serious Burgundy rather than a country wine.
The 2020 is textural and aromatic, with citrus peel, quince, white flowers and a long, waxy, stony finish. It needs food and a proper glass. Serve it cool rather than cold with roast chicken, scallops or a rich fish dish, and give it time to unfold.
