Product Description
Trentino sits in the foothills of the Dolomites, and the Chardonnay grown there has more in common with northern France than with California. Mezzacorona farms these mountain vineyards through a large cooperative of local growers, which is how the estate keeps quality steady and prices low across a wide range of bottlings.
The wine is dry and unshowy, with green apple, white pear, a touch of almond and a mineral thread that carries the finish. Oak is minimal or absent, leaving the fruit clean and the acidity intact. Serve it well chilled with trout, chicken, risotto, soft cheeses or a simple pasta with olive oil and herbs.
