Product Description
Lodi has grown Zinfandel for more than a century, much of it on old own-rooted vines, and the Phillips family have farmed there for five generations. Lust is their ambitious Zinfandel, made from the best blocks and given serious oak treatment. The 2011 has fifteen years behind it now, which is well beyond where most Zinfandel is opened.
Age has drawn the bright fruit inward, leaving dried blackberry, fig, sweet tobacco, cedar and a warm mocha finish over resolved tannins. Decant it gently, off any sediment, and pour it with rich food: braised short ribs, smoked brisket or a well-aged hard cheese.
