Product Description
Dark lager is an underrated style, and Modelo Negra is the most widely available good example in America. It follows the Munich dunkel tradition, brought to Mexico by Central European brewers in the nineteenth century, which means depth of malt flavor without the heaviness people expect from a dark beer. Richer than the Especial, but just as easy to drink.
Deep amber-brown, with caramel, toasted bread and a light nuttiness over a smooth, medium body and a clean malty finish. Serve it cool rather than ice cold, around 45 degrees. Excellent with mole, barbacoa, grilled steak, mushrooms or aged cheese.
