Product Description
The name comes from an old distillery injury, the stiff shoulder maltmen earned turning barley by hand on the malting floor. The whisky is a marriage of three Speyside single malts, blended with mixing in mind as much as sipping, which was a genuinely unusual proposition at launch and has been widely imitated since.
Soft and rounded, with vanilla, orange zest, honey and a warm thread of baking spice. There is no smoke and no sharp edges, which is why bartenders reach for it in a whisky sour or a Penicillin. Neat with a few drops of water suits it just as well.
