Garnacha is the workhorse of warm climate red wine, capable of real generosity when it is grown on poor soil and not overworked in the cellar. This bottling keeps things simple: ripe fruit, moderate oak, no attempt to turn the grape into something it is not. For the money it is among the more satisfying reds on the shelf.
Expect juicy red cherry and raspberry, a dusting of white pepper, and soft tannins that make it easy to drink young. Serve it slightly cool. It handles grilled meat, tomato based pasta, chorizo and pizza without complaint, which makes it a sound weekday red.
