Termanthia is Numanthia's summit wine, drawn from a small parcel of ungrafted pre-phylloxera Tinta de Toro vines well over a century old, farmed by hand and yielding almost nothing. Bottles like this are why Toro is now spoken about alongside Spain's most famous appellations. A collector's wine that rewards patience and a proper occasion.
Extraordinarily concentrated: blackberry liqueur, graphite, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf and sweet spice, with tannins that are powerful yet fine-grained and a finish that goes on and on. Decant well ahead and serve with rare beef, venison, or a long-braised shoulder. Drinking beautifully now, with years of life still ahead.
