Oddka arrived out of Poland with a deliberately playful approach to flavored vodka, and apple pie is the flavor that reads as comfort rather than gimmick. Baked apple, pastry and cinnamon translate surprisingly well into a clear spirit, and it turns out to be one of the more useful bottles to have around once the weather turns.
The aroma is warm cooked apple and cinnamon sugar, the palate lightly sweet with a pastry-like roundness, the finish short and spiced. Pour it over ice with cider and a cinnamon stick, add a splash to hot cider on a cold night, or serve it chilled in small glasses after dinner.
