Heaven Hill's Old Fitzgerald decanter series takes that guarantee and stretches it far past the minimum, and this Spring 2022 release carries seventeen years of Kentucky warehouse time.
The age shows as deep caramel, dark cherry, leather and old oak, with the soft wheated sweetness keeping the tannin in check. One hundred proof gives it shape without heat, and the finish runs long and dry. This is a neat pour in a proper glass, shared with someone who will notice what is in it.
