Oliver Winery has been making sweet, approachable wine in Bloomington, Indiana since 1972, and this is one of its most unapologetically dessert-leaning bottles. Apple pie in a glass sounds like a novelty until you taste a good one, at which point it becomes the thing everyone asks about at the table.
Baked apple leads, with cinnamon, brown sugar and a soft vanilla edge behind it, sweet and low in acid. Serve it cold on its own after dinner, or warm it gently with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice for something closer to mulled cider. Best with pastry or vanilla ice cream.
