Parducci has farmed in Mendocino County since the 1930s, long enough to have firm opinions about how Chardonnay should be handled in a cool corner of California. This one is made with a light hand, favoring fruit clarity over oak, and priced as a bottle you open on a Tuesday rather than save for a Saturday.
Green apple and lemon curd, a little white peach, and enough acidity to keep the finish crisp. There is a whisper of vanilla but none of the butter-bomb weight. Chill it properly and serve it with grilled fish, chicken salad or a cheese board that leans soft.
