Product Description
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir at its most recognizable: cool nights, mixed volcanic and sedimentary soils, and fruit picked before it gets fat. Penner-Ash draws across the valley for this bottling, which lends a completeness that single-vineyard wines sometimes trade away for character. It has been an Oregon benchmark for two decades and still reads as more thoughtful than its shelf price suggests.
Bright cherry and raspberry lead, followed by rose petal, forest floor and a fine dusting of tea and spice. The tannins are silky and the acidity keeps everything upright. Decant briefly, serve it cool, and set it beside grilled salmon, duck breast or roasted beets.
