Product Description
Gavi comes from the southeastern corner of Piedmont, where the Cortese grape makes a white built on tension rather than perfume. Picollo works squarely in that tradition: no oak, no embellishment, just clean fruit and the mineral cut that has made Gavi the default white in Ligurian seafood restaurants for generations. The 2022 is drinking well now.
Green apple, lemon pith and a note of almond on the nose, dry and taut on the palate with a faintly saline finish. Serve it properly cold with shellfish, fried calamari, pesto pasta or a simple risotto. It is a fine aperitif on its own, too.
