Product Description
Plavac Mali is Croatia's great red grape, grown on the sun-hammered limestone slopes of the Dalmatian coast and descended from the same family as Zinfandel. It has never been a mass-market wine, and bottles that see barrique are the serious end of the category: concentrated, warm-climate reds with grip and real character.
Full-bodied and dark, with dried cherry, fig, carob and sun-baked herbs, then vanilla and toasted oak from time in barrel and tannins that need food. Decant it for half an hour and serve with lamb, grilled sausage, aged sheep cheese or a slow-cooked stew. For adventurous red drinkers.
