Product Description
Chianti Classico occupies the hills between Florence and Siena, and its wines are built on Sangiovese and a certain earned austerity. This is a classically styled example: red-fruited rather than plush, savory rather than sweet, made to sit beside food instead of standing alone. Tuscan reds in this mold have outlasted every trend that tried to replace them.
Look for sour cherry, dried violet, tomato leaf and a dusty mineral close, with firm acidity and fine tannin. Let it breathe twenty minutes, serve near 62 degrees, and pour it with grilled beef, wild boar ragu, aged pecorino or a plate of salumi.
