Product Description
Laurelwood is a particular kind of Oregon ground: windblown volcanic loess layered over basalt in the Chehalem Mountains, and it leaves a mark on everything grown in it. Ponzi has farmed there since the beginning of the valley's modern era, and this Chardonnay shows the site clearly, with oak used as seasoning rather than as the main event.
Lemon curd, white peach and hazelnut lead into a bright, mineral-driven palate with a long, chalky finish. Serve it near 50 degrees and give it a proper glass. It shines with roast chicken, scallops, mushroom pasta or a soft washed-rind cheese.
