Product Description
The Ponzi family planted in Oregon in 1970, when almost nobody believed the Willamette Valley could grow serious wine, and they were among the first to bet on Pinot Gris there. Half a century later the grape is an Oregon signature, and this bottling shows why: more texture than the Italian versions, more restraint than the Alsatian ones.
Pear, white peach and citrus blossom on the nose, then a rounded, slightly weighty palate that finishes dry and clean. Serve it chilled but not frigid, near 48 degrees, with crab, halibut, roast pork or a bowl of steamed clams.
