Product Description
Pride farms on the ridge of Spring Mountain, high enough that the vineyard straddles the Napa and Sonoma county line and the winery keeps two sets of paperwork. The altitude is the point: thin soils, cool air, small berries, and a concentration that valley-floor sites rarely reach. Merlot has been one of the estate's quiet triumphs for decades, and 2019 was a generous, well-balanced year on the mountain.
Dense but graceful, with black cherry, cocoa, plum, violet and an edge of cedar and graphite. The tannins are fine-grained and long. Decant an hour, serve near 64 degrees, and pour it with rack of lamb, venison or aged hard cheese.
