Product Description
Moldova has been making wine for thousands of years and, until recently, sending most of it eastward without much notice from the rest of the world. Purcari is the estate that changed that, farming near the Dniester since 1827 and now the most recognizable name in the country. This dry red is a good entry point: serious in structure, gentle in price, and unlike anything from the usual regions.
Dark and savory, with black cherry, plum, tobacco leaf and a firm, dusty tannin structure. Give it an hour open, serve near 63 degrees, and pair it with lamb, grilled beef, roasted eggplant or a strong sheep cheese.
