Product Description
Rara Neagra is Moldova's own grape, its name translating as rare black, and it yields something closer to a cool-climate Pinot Noir than to the heavy reds the region is often assumed to make. Purcari has done more than any other producer to bring it to international attention. If you enjoy discovering grapes you have never poured before, start here.
Light to medium in body, with red cherry, dried rose, a savory earth note and soft, fine tannins over bright acidity. Serve it cool, near 60 degrees, and treat it as a lighter red: roast chicken, duck, mushroom dishes or charcuterie.
