Madera sits in California's hot interior, exactly the sort of place Muscat thrives, and Quady has spent decades turning that fruit into wines that taste unmistakably of the grape. Electra Moscato is the bottling that made the name: low in alcohol, gently sparkling, and sweet in a clean floral way rather than a heavy one. A genuinely good introduction to sweet wine made with care.
The nose is pure orange blossom and fresh grape. The palate follows with apricot, honeydew and citrus, a light prickle of bubbles, and a finish that stays refreshing instead of cloying. Drink it very cold. Pairs happily with spicy takeout, fresh fruit, or a slice of pound cake.
