Product Description
Ten years in cask is what separates tawny Port from everything else in the Douro. The wine sits in wood for a decade, slowly oxidising, shedding its purple and taking on an amber rim, until fresh fruit gives way to nuts and dried figs. It is blended to a consistent ten-year average and bottled ready to pour, with no cellaring required.
Warm and nutty rather than grapey: hazelnut, dried apricot, caramel and orange peel, with a gently spiced finish that lingers. Unlike vintage Port it keeps for weeks after opening, which makes it the practical bottle for one glass at the end of a long day.
