Product Description
David Ramey is one of the architects of modern California Chardonnay, and Ritchie Vineyard is among the most celebrated old Chardonnay sites in the Russian River Valley. Put the two together and you get a wine discussed by name rather than by category. The 2018 is well into its drinking window now, with the kind of bottle age that only time can supply.
Rich but taut, offering lemon curd, white peach and ripe pear over toasted hazelnut, brioche and a streak of wet stone from barrel aging. The texture is creamy while the acidity keeps everything upright. Serve cool rather than cold, near 55 degrees, with roast chicken, lobster or scallops in butter.
