Product Description
Very Superior Old Pale is a specification rather than a slogan: a VSOP cognac must be built from eaux-de-vie aged four years at minimum, and this has been the category's most familiar face for generations. The liter bottle splits the difference between the standard 750 and the large format. Fine Champagne on the label means the blend draws only on the region's two finest crus.
Smooth and rounded, showing vanilla, stone fruit and a touch of licorice over toasted oak, closing warm rather than sharp. It drinks well neat, takes ice without falling apart, and is the default cognac for a sidecar. Room temperature in a tulip glass shows it best.
