Product Description
Cold nights and a hot oven are the natural habitat for this one. Reschke draws its Shiraz from the same limestone-based Coonawarra ground that built the estate's reputation for Cabernet, and the grape answers with more restraint than Australian Shiraz usually gets credit for. Generous, certainly, but framed and held together rather than sprawling.
Dark cherry and blackberry arrive first, then black pepper, licorice and a warming note of smoked spice through the finish. Medium to full in body with supple tannin. Open it for braised short ribs, sausages off the grill, lamb shanks or a mushroom-heavy risotto.
