Product Description
Dry Creek Valley is Zinfandel country, and the old head-trained vines at Lytton Springs rank among the most celebrated plantings in it. Ridge works the site with minimal intervention and blends in the Carignane and Petite Sirah that were interplanted generations ago, following the traditional Sonoma field-blend approach rather than a modern varietal one. The result is Zinfandel with a spine.
Bramble fruit, raspberry, black pepper and a savory note of dried herb, with lively acidity keeping the ripeness in check. Balanced rather than jammy. Pour it with barbecue, pork shoulder, lamb sausage or a mushroom and thyme tart.
