Product Description
Extra anejo is the top shelf of the tequila pyramid, and it did not exist as a legal category until 2006. Reaching it requires a minimum of three years in oak, which is a long commitment for a distillery and a genuine expense. Riqueza Cultural takes that route, and the extra time shows in a spirit that behaves more like aged brandy than like tequila.
Deep amber, with dried apricot, toffee, dark chocolate and a warm spice finish that holds. The texture is rich and the heat is almost entirely gone. Drink it neat and slowly at room temperature, and treat it the way you would a good cognac.
