Product Description
Old vines yield less fruit and concentrate what little they do produce, which is why growers keep them in the ground long past their commercial prime. Rodney Strong draws on mature Zinfandel plantings in Sonoma County for this one, and the difference shows up as depth rather than sheer power. There is a reason the words appear on the label.
Brambly blackberry and raspberry with black pepper, sweet spice and a warm, generous finish. Full-bodied, but held together by good acidity. This is barbecue wine in the best sense: ribs, pulled pork, spiced sausage, or a burger with sharp cheese and too many toppings.
