The style is medium-bodied and savoury, with dark cherry fruit, a dry and faintly dusty tannin, and the clean acidity that makes Italian reds so easy to drink alongside food. Pull the cork half an hour ahead and pour it slightly cool. Pasta with red sauce, roast chicken, a pizza, a wedge of hard cheese: it flatters all of them.
