Rosario Vera puts her own name on the label, which in Rioja still means something: a small-scale, hands-on approach in a region better known for large houses and long cellar traditions. The wine reflects that outlook, with less oak varnish, more vineyard character, and a freshness that pulls Rioja closer to the way people actually want to drink red wine now.
Expect bright red cherry and wild strawberry, a savoury undertow of leather and dried herb, and tannins that are present but never obtrusive. It is medium-bodied and food-shaped rather than showy. Lamb, roast pork, jamon, aged Manchego or a simple potato tortilla all find their place beside it. Decant briefly if you have the time.
