Product Description
Few bottles move faster off a Chicago shelf than this one. Roscato Rosso Dolce succeeded by ignoring wine convention entirely: sweet on purpose, gently fizzy, modest in alcohol and designed to be understood on the first sip. Purists grumbled for a while and then stopped, because a wine that makes people happy is doing exactly what it set out to do.
Look for concentrated blackberry and cherry preserve, a whisper of violet, and a soft sparkle that lifts the sugar off the palate. It wants a serious chill, two hours in the refrigerator at least. Pour it with dessert, with hot wings, or on its own as the house wine for a gathering that is not about the wine.
