Product Description
Zinfandel is California history in a glass, and Jeff Runquist treats it accordingly, sourcing fruit from old-vine country and bottling it with the exuberance the grape is famous for rather than trying to make it behave like Cabernet. The house style is ripe and warm-hearted, unashamedly fruit-driven, and consistently good value for the depth it delivers.
Bramble fruit, raspberry jam and macerated cherry come laced with vanilla, sweet baking spice and a lick of oak; the finish is round and warming. Serve it a touch below room temperature with pulled pork, pepperoni pizza, or burgers off the grill. Zinfandel rarely needs an occasion, but it improves most of them.
