Savage Apple is Sailor Jerry's flavoured expression, keeping the brand's vanilla-and-cinnamon backbone and layering crisp apple across the top. It was built for mixing rather than contemplating, and it does that job with more character than most flavoured rums bother to bring.
The apple reads tart and fresh rather than syrupy, with the spice notes still recognisable underneath it. Serve it very cold, or build it tall with ginger ale, lemonade or hard cider. It makes a good autumn punch with apple juice and a cinnamon stick, and it pours easily straight from the freezer.
