Product Description
Green apple and lemon curd with a thread of vanilla running through it. This is Chardonnay made squarely in the middle of the road, deliberately, and there is nothing wrong with that. Sand Point avoids both the heavy butter of old California and the austere steel of the backlash, aiming instead for the version most people actually enjoy drinking.
The texture is rounded without turning thick, the oak is present but restrained, and the finish stays fresh thanks to Lodi's cool delta nights. Serve it cold but not frozen. Roast chicken, cream sauces, crab cakes and sweetcorn all suit it, and it is a dependable glass to hand anybody who just asked for white wine.
