Product Description
Affordable Pinot Noir is a genuinely difficult thing to make well. The grape is thin-skinned, fussy in the vineyard and expensive to farm, which is why most cheap examples taste hollow. Sand Point gets around the problem with careful sourcing in Lodi and a light hand in the cellar, delivering a Pinot that tastes like Pinot rather than like a compromise.
Red cherry and raspberry lead, with a savoury undertone of tea leaf and a whisper of smoke. The body is light, the tannins soft, the finish clean. Chill it for twenty minutes and serve in a wide glass. Salmon, roast chicken, ham and mushroom dishes are natural companions. Easy to like, and easy to keep buying.
