Santa Margherita built its international reputation on Pinot Grigio, but the house has been working in northern Italian sparkling wine for just as long. This Prosecco is made in tank rather than bottle, a method chosen to keep the fruit fresh and the bubbles fine, and it carries the same polish the label is known for across the rest of its range.
Green apple, white peach and a touch of citrus blossom lead, with a delicate mousse and a crisp, barely sweet finish. Serve it cold in a tulip glass. A fine aperitif on its own, and good with prosciutto, fried seafood, risotto or brunch. Also the correct starting point for a spritz.
