Product Description
On the western edge of St. Helena, the Spottswoode estate has been farmed since 1882 and organically since the 1980s, long before anyone thought to advertise the fact. The Estate Cabernet is the wine that made the property's name, and 2013 is widely held to be one of the finest recent growing seasons in the valley.
Cassis, violet and graphite lead, framed by cedar and fine-grained tannin that tightens before slowly unfurling. There is genuine structure here and no excess weight. Decant for an hour, serve at cellar temperature in a large bowl, and pour it with dry-aged beef or roast lamb.
