Product Description
Chateau de Saint Cosme has been in the same family since the sixteenth century, and Louis Barruol has made it the reference point for Gigondas. The appellation sits beneath the jagged Dentelles de Montmirail in the southern Rhone, and this is its most consistently celebrated address.
Grenache-led and powerful, the wine gives black cherry, kirsch, crushed pepper, licorice and wild herbs, with plenty of structure behind the fruit. Decant it and serve with lamb, game, or a stew that has cooked all afternoon. A serious Rhone red that also rewards a few years in the cellar.
