Product Description
Batch 18 arrived at 131 proof, near the upper end of where Stagg lands, and it drinks like it. Buffalo Trace releases this bourbon uncut and unfiltered a few times a year, each batch its own creature, which is precisely why the numbers get tracked. What is in this bottle represents one moment of the distillery's output.
Big and oily in the glass, with dark cherry, molasses, toasted pecan and a thick seam of charred oak. The heat is genuine but well integrated, and the finish runs long on cocoa and pipe tobacco. Pour a small measure neat, then add water a drop at a time and let it stretch out.
