Every Stagg release begins the same way and ends somewhere slightly different. Batch 19 came out of Frankfort, Kentucky at 130 proof, drawn straight from barrel with no water and no chill filtration. The batch number on the label is the whole point: this particular assembly will not be repeated.
Rich and chewy, leading with dark fruit and brown sugar before oak, clove and a peppery heat take command. Cocoa and leather linger on a finish that refuses to end promptly. Best neat in a small glass with a splash of water held in reserve. Not a bottle to hurry, and not one to mix.
