Blackberry does unusually well in a bottle, holding onto its deep jammy character and its edge of tartness in a way lighter berries simply cannot. This is a sweet blackberry pour in the traditional country-fruit mold, dark in the glass and unmistakably fruity, built for sipping rather than analyzing.
The flavor is concentrated blackberry, sweet with a tart seam running through it, syrupy in weight and long on the finish. Serve it chilled in a small glass after dinner, over ice with soda, or spooned across vanilla ice cream. It also lifts a glass of sparkling wine considerably. Keep it refrigerated once opened.
