Product Description
Taboadella is a relatively new name on a very old estate in the Dao, revived by the Amorim family with serious ambition and a granite, high-altitude vineyard site to work with. Touriga Nacional is the flagship grape of Portugal, and this is the single-varietal expression of it from that property.
Expect concentrated dark fruit, violets, and a distinctly mineral, fine-grained structure that the Dao does better than almost anywhere else. Give it air and a large glass, and serve it just below room temperature. It rewards roast lamb, grilled beef, mushroom dishes, and aged cheese. A bottle for drinkers who take Portuguese red seriously.
