Talisker has distilled on the Isle of Skye since 1830, on a shoreline where the weather is a genuine part of the story. Storm is the house style pushed further toward smoke and salt, a no-age-statement bottling built for intensity rather than delicacy, and one of the better values in coastal single malt.
Peat smoke, brine, and black pepper lead, with dried fruit underneath and a long, warming, distinctly maritime finish that the higher bottling strength carries well. Drink it neat in a tulip glass, or add a few drops of water to open the fruit. It suits smoked fish, oysters, dark chocolate, and cold evenings.
